This workshop is for people at all levels of experience!

We could spend hours discussing what makes someone a jazz singer. Instead, we'll do fun, challenging exercises you'll be able to do on your own, practical applications that will help you build skills to internalize "jazz feel" and explore that scary thing we call improvisation. We'll look at how to make a song your own, and ways to get out of your head and more deeply inside the music. Everyone will sing in group exercises; time permitting, there will be opportunities to sing a song with accompaniment and receive immediately-useful feedback.

Andrea Wolper has been described as a singer with "an inventive, thrilling, appealing musical vision" (Blogcritics), "more than a giant singer" (InTune International) who “brings songs to life, whatever their source, working in a milieu that begins with jazz and reaches out to embrace an expressive area that is uniquely her own" (International Review of Music). She teaches vocal technique in her New York home base, and workshops around the world.
